Introduction
Extras let you expand a product’s functionality by offering customers extra ingredients or options. The System supports two types of extras:
• Global — apply to every product in every category.
• Individual — apply only within a specific category.
(Global extra)
(per category)
1. Creating an Extras Group
1.1. Go to Extras for Categories or Products, depending on your needs.
1.2. Click Add.
1.3. Enter a Extra name (shown in the admin interface).
1.4. Optionally add an internal Description.
1.5. Toggle Status on and save the group.
2. Configuring Extra Categories
2.1. Inside the group, click Add button.
2.2. Fill in:
• Name — shown to customers in the app.
• Description — brief explanation (shown to customers).
2.3. Set the minimum and maximum number of options a customer can choose (leave 0 for no limit).
2.4. Configure extra parameters as needed (most of them are related to pizza, but they can also be used for other products.):
– mark “Option pizza” (the system can comprehend that the product is a pizza and adopt a perspective on it);
– allow half-option (allows choosing half of the portion);
– the reduce price for half option works for products that can be sold for half-off options, such as pizza.;
– combine two options for the price of one (also good for pizza);
– set a total-quantity limit, etc.
3. Adding Suboption Items (Ingredients)
3.1. In the category, click Add Item.
3.2. For each item specify:
• Name and Description (shown in the app).
• Image (optional).
• Base price or surcharge.
• Selection limit (max portions of the item).
• Custom tag (It’s a label that appears in front of the item name, for example, “best choice,” “spicy,” “popular,” etc.).
• SKU (You can also enter a SKU to account for this extra)
3.3. Example:
Extras can be free and do not affect the price of the product itself or paid (in our case, the standard burger comes with a chicken patty, but you have to pay extra for the beef patty).
– Chicken — standard burger price.
– Beef — surcharge +10 units for this extra.
And save.
P.S. In case of pizza here, you can customize the ingredients to add or choose from as additional options.
4. Applying Extra to Products
4.1. Open the product card in the desired category.
4.2. Go to Available Extras.
4.3. Activate the required extra groups/categories.
4.4. If needed, open the extra editor to adjust price, description, or limits.
5. Display in the App
• When a product is selected, a pop-up with available extras appears.
• Each category shows its items and prices (base price + surcharge).
• Customers choose options within the defined min/max limits.
